New Season
Our new season begins on Tuesday 4 September at 8pm. This is a Welcome to AWPS Evening with information about membership, a preview of what we have in store for the coming season, competitions, our on-site studio, day/evening shoots, guest speakers etc.
During the second part of evening there will an opportunity to meet the group, catch up on news with a glass of something cheeky and a few choice nibbles accompanied by a digital projection of some of the top scoring work from last season's competitions.
If you have an interest in photography, beginner or expert, you are welcome to come along to 4 of our meetings before deciding whether to join.

AWPS in Space!
On Tuesday 8 May at 8pm, we are very, very lucky to be hosting a talk from the Royal Observatory Greenwich.
Ever thought about astrophotography? Been put off by other incredible deep sky images or planetary close ups? Fear not! Astrophotography is for everyone and is simple to pick up.
Join Astronomers from the Royal Observatory Greenwich for some top tips on getting started and hear a behind the scenes account of their Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition, an international prize for amateur astrophotographers.
Guest speakers – Dr Marek Kukula, Public Astronomer and Astronomy Photographer of the Year judge, Brendan Owens, Astronomer, Emma McLean Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition manager.
This is the first time the presentation will be made outside the Observatory so tickets are in short supply. If you haven’t already been in touch with Stu Mayhew to confirm you are attending please urgently drop him a note at stumayhew@aol.com and don’t forget to arrive ready to start at 8pm.
